Having focus is important in getting our work done because distractions might lead to not getting a work done in time.

Focusing is simply putting our attention on a particular thing. Imagine putting your attention on so many things at the same time, how will that look like? This is one of the stressful things we need to stop doing.

And so, we need to find out what distracts us and do away with such things.

I found out that one of the things that distract me is my phone, and as I have noticed that, I work towards not getting distracted by my phone.

With the advent of the internet, so many things such as apps, websites, adverts, blogs, social networking sites, forums, etc. are vying for our attention. It’s either they want us to stop and click a link or to stop and read an advert or to stop and see a picture, etc.

If not careful, we might get distracted with so many attractive things on the internet.

Of course, distractions doesn’t only come from the internet, they could come other things like from objects, noise, etc.

Distractions affect having focus, and without having a focus on a task, the task might not be completed as at when due.

  1. It aids productivity: when we focus on something, we get more productive on that thing. 2. It reduces confusion: getting distracted by so many things, rather than focusing on what we need to focus on might cause confusion. This is because when we give our attention to so many things at the same time; it might get confusing when trying to keep up with those things at the same time. For instance, if someone is trying to write an article as well as watching TV, it might not allow the person to keep up with either of the two things effectively. Also, For instance, if someone is trying to think about marketing strategies for his/her business, and at the same time the person is trying to come up with budgeting plan for the business, and at the same time thinking about what his/her staff did yesterday or an appraisal of a staff’s work; doing all these at the same time might be confusing.
  3. It reduces stress: giving our attention to so many things at the same time might be a stressful thing to do.
