It is time to stop complaining for good

When you stop complaining, you begin to see things from a whole new direction, and you broaden your horizons and you get more grateful for whatever it is you are doing or in whichever situation you find yourself.

Complaining brings bitterness and stress. When you complain, you only talk and talk about the problems or situations without thinking about how it can be resolved.

Sometimes, it might be difficult for us to take our eyes off the problem; but we really need to, and place our focus in the right places.

So many of us complain about things we don’t like and we whine and whine until we are tired of whining.

Sometimes we might think the easiest thing to do when we are faced with situations we don’t like is to complain. But trust me, complaining never solves anything. Rather, it adds to the problem.

Here are some disadvantages of complaining you need to know:

1. Complaining stresses you out

When we complain too much, we get worked up and tired so easily. Sometimes, we even unknowingly magnify the problem to the extent that it seems so confusing to walk-through. Sometimes, we complain about things that may be insignificant in a few days or we complain over things that we have not power to change. I mean if complaining is going to fix the situation you can go on and complain about it but we all know that won’t happen. So, think about doing something concerning the situation or don’t stress out by complaining about it.

2. You won’t get the problem solved and it brings about few results

When you complain too much, it is hard to get results. This is because when you complain; you are simply doing nothing to solve the problem, and you are wasting time as well. There are high chances that when you complain, you do nothing about the situation. It is simply a waste of time.

3. It makes you more negative

When you complain, you are more negative, and you don’t see things from a positive perspective; rather, you see them in a negative way. Also, people do not like being friends with someone who complains, people do have enough on their shoulders to hear you complain. I understand that there are situations you may be tempted to complain about but resist the urge to do that. Rather, pour your energy into doing something about. Here is an article that may help you; I Stopped Complaining For One Month. Here Is How It Changed Me.

With that being said, here is how to stop complaining about things for good:

1. Turn to God

If you are faced with a situation you don’t like, or you don’t understand, the best thing to do is to turn to God and commit everything to Him. When you do this, you will be more relaxed. Also, note that when you pray about situations, avoid worrying about them; trust that God has answered your prayers.

2. Take note of the triggers

Whenever you are faced with things you don’t like, it is also important to pay attention to what triggers them. Ensure you do not keep putting yourself in such situations. Take note of what triggers you to complain. Is it questions like: how are you doing? Or is it the people you surround yourself with. Ensure you look for “complain triggers”. Yes, they are a thing.

3. Be grateful

Be grateful for where you are, and for what God has blessed you with. For instance, if you are faced with doing very hard tasks in work, instead of complaining, thank God for giving you the opportunity to have a job, shelter, clothing, etc. It is very easy to list and complain about all the things that are not going on well. If you need to have a gratitude jar, please do. When you feel the urge to complain, take out one to read.

4. Be positive

Also, try to find the good in everything; take a look at things from a better perspective. Open your mind and be willing to find the good in different things and situations. Your positivity attracts you to positive people when you complain you attract the same kind of people. So, try to be positive because only positive (optimistic) people see a jar as ‘half filled rather than half empty”. When you are positive, you think up solutions to situations that you are unsatisfied with.

5. Face the situation

What can you do about it? think about the situation and try to find out what you can do about it. Can you change the situation? If you can’t, what can you do instead? Move on? I mean, you must have heard this several times, face your fear. Face the situation head on.
