The Fashion Engineer on Fashion & Blogging

Chief Makeup Artist and Fashion Stylist at Sayedero Makeover, C.E.O at Sayedero’s Atelier and Top Fashion Blogger (The Fashion Engineer) had this exclusive interview with STM

There is a lot of buzz about the fashion engineer. Who is she?

*Blushes* My name is Sayedero Enytan, I am a fashion blogger, entrepreneur, stylist and I’m studying Electrical and Electronics Engineering in Covenant University.

What exactly inspired you to start all this?

I’d always wanted to start a blog but I always made excuses because I did not have a professional camera like other bloggers, so I silenced the voices and started using my webcam…all I wanted to do was show my style and I always knew I was going to have an online store in the long run so I was kind of building my brand.

What challenges do you face?

Lack of internet connection! The struggle to get a good internet connection is real oh! Lool…but I try.

How are you able to balance out university work with blogging and looking gorgeous all the time?

It’s funny how it’s when I pick up my books to read, I remember I want to blog…Lool…I find the time, even if I have to schedule my posts a week before it’s published.

How much has your engineering degree influenced your creative side?

Err…for now diodes and transistors haven’t influenced my style in any way, maybe in the long run though when I start my clothing line…I could add some techie stuff to my clothes.

What would you say are the 5 most important things any lady should own?

Her Bible (Beauty is vain, but a woman that fears the LORD, shall be praised), eyeliner, a red lipstick, sunscreen and a pair of sky-high heels.

Looking forward, in the next five years’ time, where do you see yourself or what would you like to be doing?

In the next five years, I hope I am married with twins…haha (I’m using style to remind God), I hope my company would have gone global (I should be doing international deliveries by God’s grace) and my blog should be an international force!

How do you think young people in Nigeria can take advantage of opportunities with the poor structure and lack of exposure in the society?

The internet! There are so many materials on the internet and they can use that to develop themselves and the best part is that you can get most of them for free…cool right?

What advice would you give to young people who are looking to start businesses or who have recently started?

Don’t despise the days of little beginnings start with what you have and do your research on people who have succeeded in similar business ventures and apply some of the principles they use in your business and pray for God’s direction, you need it every step of the way.

Any last words?
