For Those Who Got a ‘No’

Perhaps you just got a ‘no’ from an interview you attended or you just got an email rejecting your proposal or pitch, or the investor you thought would invest in your business doesn’t want to invest in your business, or someone just turned down your business proposition. This is for you, read on.

Getting ‘No’s’ might sometimes be discouraging, however, when we treat a ‘no’ the right way, we get to use the ‘no’ to our advantage.

When we see a ‘no’ as a rejection, we are limiting the way we can use it to our advantage. On the other hand, seeing a ‘no’ as a chance to get something better, later on, to wait for something better, and so on; it is much better.

There are negative feelings that come with thoughts of rejection, some of them; feelings of not being good enough, feelings of not being qualified for something, etc. when we think about being rejected, negative feelings prop up and it isn’t good for us to have negative feelings.

And so, when we look at a ‘no’ and see it not as a rejection, but as a chance to wait for something better or get something better; we don’t get negative feelings from that situation of getting a ‘no’.

I have gotten several ‘no’s from people; ‘no, you can’t have that’, ‘no, I can’t give you that’, and so on.

But here’s thing, I always get reminded that God knows all of my needs and He knows exactly when I need to get something. And I get to see or understand the reasons of the ‘no’s later on.

We need to always remember that God has a reason for everything and we should always learn to commit everything to God and trust Him.

For instance, if someone didn’t get a job after so many applications; the person has gone for interviews upon interviews but he/she got ’no’s’ from the interviews, how will the person deal with such situation?

What do you do when you get a ‘no’?

First, thank God; yes, thank God. We don’t know everything, we don’t know why things happen the way they do. Haven’t you heard of stories where someone’s story changes for better in just a split second?

If something happens to you that you feel bad about, be reminded that God has a reason and God sees everything. And so, keep on trusting God and thank Him.

The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

And so, for anyone going through a bad time, going through a rough patch or for someone who just got a ‘no’; remember that beautiful ‘yeses’ are coming when God wants them to come which is always the right time.

You don’t need to feel discouraged or sad, read the Bible, read about God’s promises for your life, remember God’s promises for your life, know who you are in Christ and always remember that God loves you so much.

Don’t give up; your time for a turnaround is coming.
