4 Areas That You Need To Start Seeking Growth

There is so much that we have on the inside of us. We have way more potential in us than we are aware of. We have way more energy to become all that we need to become to fulfill our life missions than we care to recognize. More so, that we are our own limitations because we fail to recognize the importance of personal growth. And even if we do recognize its importance, we tend to intently dwell on our inabilities to grow.

As a human, seeking growth in all spheres of my human life is very important if I must live a fulfilling life and positively impact the world around me. And though I recognize the place of growth, I also realize that growth takes time. This is visible in the fact that though we’re born into this world as babies, we attain physical growth with time.

Essentially, we should seek to groom our spiritual, mental, physical, and social lives; all of which can ensure we triumph in our personal lives, our relationships, and in our careers. However, we must realize that the growth we seek takes time and significant effort. It may require sharing your growth plans with an accountability partner, to keep you accountable and committed to your plans. Also endeavour to seek out people who have achieved the things you desire to achieve, and from whose stories you can draw strength and inspiration in times when you’d feel discouraged.

Growth, as a process, will then be the pursuit of becoming the individual capable of delivering your life’s mission. So, when your life’s mission seems unachievable, don’t try to tone it down, pursue personal growth instead because your gifts and life missions are given to you for the rest of us. In order to continuously grow as an individual, here are a few areas I propose:

1. Spiritually

We must grow in the understanding of our oneness with God and the universe. Growing spiritually requires purposeful efforts. I believe that spiritual growth is the foundation for every other growth that we seek. Hence the reason that this is at the top of my list not that this is arranged in any particular order. Each day wake up with a renewed commitment to connect with God and be active in your spiritual work.

2. Mentally

“As a man thinks, so is he.” The mind is a very imaginative and suggestive tool, once we think we can’t then we really can’t. Most times we tend to ignore the mind in our strive for excellence but we need to consciously guard our minds and feed our minds the right diet. The mind has the power to control your psychological and emotional well-being so ensure that you protect yourself from negative energy. Read the right books, watch the right movies, listen to the right songs, and surround yourself with positive family and friends.

3. Physically

Our bodies are essential tools to enable us in carrying out our life missions. Hence, we need to keep our body in great condition. How often do you exercise? Do you drink enough water? Is your diet balanced? According to World Health Organization, 23 percent of adults and 81 percent of adolescents in school are inactive people. People in various countries are becoming more and more inactive, people who lack physical activity stand a higher risk of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) such as stroke, diabetes, and cancer. If you have been defaulting in this area, it is not too late

If you have been defaulting in this area, it is not too late to start paying attention to your physical well-being. Get the right apps to remind you about your daily water intake, have workout partners, and adopt healthy eating habits.

4. Socially

Learn to cultivate healthy relationships with the people around you especially those with similar paths. Daily activities and worries can easily isolate us from friends and family but a conscious effort to be present in the life of others and to build a network of people can make the journey in life worth embarking on. It gets lonely, but having people who love us can help us thrive in such times.

Therefore, if we do not seek growth in every aspect of our lives deemed necessary, there’s a greater chance of us experiencing needless difficulties in life, both single and married individuals alike. We’d fail to understand who we are, the enormous creative potentials God has placed in us to aid the fulfillment of our life missions, and this might mean us living unfulfilled and unsatisfactory lives.Let’s choose to seek growth today, and believe that we can grow into the needed capacities to bring our creative potentials to bear in our physical world.
